IT-7406 is a silicone diffusion pump fluid for high vacuum of upto 10-10 torr. A low vapor pressure and thermal stability make it ideal vacuum oil for use in mass spectrometers or electron microscopes etc. It offers quick pump-down, even after exposure to air under operating conditions. Low vapor pressure of IT-7406 silicone fluids at baffle temperatures results in low migration rates. Jets and boiler surfaces hence stay clean; it exhibit virtually no breakdown or decomposition under operational conditions. The recovery rate of IT-7406 after exposure to air at operating tempera¬tures is faster.
